Seven elderly people in Belgium died after being infected with a new mutant strain
According to a Reuters report on the 9th, seven elderly people in a Belgian nursing home were still infected with a variant of the new crown virus last week and died last week after being vaccinated with the new crown vaccine. This strain has not yet received the Greek letter designation of the World Health Organization, and the European disease control department has listed it as a "negative" mutant new coronavirus strain.
According to reports, as of now, 21 elderly people and many staff in this nursing home have been infected with this mutant strain. The seven deceased were all 80 or 90-year-olds, and some of them were in poor health before contracting the virus. The inspectors need further analysis to determine whether the deceased actually died of this mutant strain.
This strain was first discovered in Colombia and recently spread from South America to the United States. It is a rare case in Europe.
