Germany: A large influx of Afghan refugees is expected
At the CDU party committee meeting in Berlin on the 16th local time, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that many people will try to leave Afghanistan. The German government will work closely with Afghanistan’s neighboring countries to make every effort to help these countries receive refugees.
The spokesperson of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior said on the 16th that it must be assumed that the local situation will trigger a wave of refugees. The spokesperson confirmed that a transport plane dispatched by the German Bundeswehr will first evacuate local employees to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. These personnel can then continue to transfer to civilian aircraft to Germany.
And the chairman of the German ruling CDU party and the candidate for chancellor Rachelt refused to make a promise that Germany will accept a large number of Afghan refugees.
